Glenn pledges support for international water charity

Posted by Glenn Cleaning, July 25, 2018

At Glenn, we believe that commercial companies have a responsibility to support worthwhile causes and that’s why we are wholly committed to operating in a socially-responsible and environmentally-sustainable manner.

This kind of support is all the more appropriate when the cause in question has a direct connection to the nature of our business.

We have decided to throw our energies, individual and corporate, behind the not-for-profit organisation WaterAid. In the words of Seyi, our Sales and Marketing Manager:

‘We’re a cleaning company. Without a constant supply of clean water, we simply couldn’t function. So it’s only right that we should show respect for this natural resource and try to help those who aren’t fortunate enough to have unlimited access to it.’

WaterAid is an international not-for-profit determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation.

Since their launch in 1981, they have reached 25.8 million people with clean water, and 25.1 million with toilets.

An unacceptable situation

It is impossible to exaggerate the need for WaterAid’s work. The global water crisis statistics speak for themselves:

  • Every minute a newborn baby dies from an infection caused by lack of safe water
  • Every two minutes, diarrhoea caused by dirty water and poor toilets kills a child under five years old.
  • One in nine people have no access to safe water
  • More than half of primary schools in developing countries have inadequate water facilities. Nearly two thirds lack adequate sanitation.

How you can help us to help WaterAid

On top of our corporate commitment, we will be undertaking fundraising activities throughout the year. We will also be dedicating one ‘Water Month’ a year to help highlight WaterAid’s great work and raise awareness of the acute problems faced by much of the developing world.

In the run-up to Water Month, we will be contacting all of our clients to showcase our fundraising initiatives and to garner their support to raise money for this worthwhile cause.

Meanwhile, we will be in touch very soon with other fundraising activity and we hope that you can help us to support and promote this great organisation and its inspiring work.

Please accept our sincere thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Office Cleaning Services: Why Cleaning Frequency Matters

The Right Cleaning Schedule Is a Business Decision, Not Just a Cleaning Decision For many businesses, office cleaning is viewed as a routine operational expense.
