Let’s go green. The ethical and financial benefits to your business.

The most active contributors to globalisation are neither governments nor multinational corporations: they are waste products, discarded packaging and environmentally-destructive chemicals.

A dead whale washed up in the Philippines was found to have 40 kilogrammes of plastic in its stomach. In the middle of the Pacific Ocean is a raft of rubbish the size of France. Plastic is no respecter of national boundaries.

Waste is now a plague of planetary proportions – one to which many UK businesses contribute daily without realising the results of their behaviour.

At Glenn, we are committed to reducing as far as possible the impact of our operations. We make sure that we always use the most eco-friendly products available, and we keep up with the technological advances that are progressively reducing the damage caused by cleaning agents.   To this end, we research the provenance of all of the products we use in our business, and work with our suppliers to lessen our combined impact on the environment. This involves assessing every aspect of the production, use and disposal of the products we employ.

Where relevant, we train our employees in environmental issues. And we operate a sustainable procurement policy that requires staff members to consider sustainability as a factor in all of their purchasing decisions.

Furthermore, we extend our environmentally-friendly methods to include our clients’ own businesses – for instance, by undertaking the management of their commercial waste in ways that meet all recycling regulations. This might involve supplying individual skips or providing and collecting containers and compactors before disposing of the waste in the most ecologically sound way available.

We can also help our clients to design and implement recycling systems for their business premises, based on a ‘mixed or separated’ concept. After all, recycling is one of the most effective and immediate ways of making a positive impact on the world in which we all must live.

Environmental legislation and good corporate citizenship mean that any waste produced by a business needs to be disposed of responsibly and efficiently.

This not only ensures that you won’t be prosecuted, but can actually deliver a considerable financial return to your business.  For instance, we place great emphasis upon conserving water – a precious resource that is nevertheless central to most of our services.

And then there’s the CSR dimension (corporate and social responsibility) through which considerate, environmentally-aware practices generate a degree of goodwill towards a business that is literally priceless.

To sum up:

Recycling and environmentally-responsible practices minimise pollution, protect the environment, help to slow global warming, conserve natural resources and ensure the sustainable use of resources.

Glenn is committed to these principles, and to helping our clients to build them into their business plans and their everyday practices.

Office Cleaning Services: Why Cleaning Frequency Matters

The Right Cleaning Schedule Is a Business Decision, Not Just a Cleaning Decision For many businesses, office cleaning is viewed as a routine operational expense.
